The new Vizio television can drastically change how you experience home entertainment — but only if yours is set up properly! The majority of users do not spend enough time actually doing set-up; as a result, they miss out on some of the key settings which could greatly enhance their ability to stream content clearly/with good sound quality.
Are you getting the most out of your new Vizio TV?
First, the important point to look at would be your internet connection. The quality of your streaming experience will mainly depend on the speed and stability of your network. Connect your television to a strong WiFi connection or, even better yet, connect through an ethernet cord using a wired connection. A steady connection allows for less buffering, better 4K playback, and a smoother experience while streaming from such apps as Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime.
Second, check the picture settings on your Vizio TV. Although default picture modes may seem adequate, when calibrated options are used instead, such as “Calibrated” or “Vivid” (depending on how much natural light is in your room) pictures will be a lot more accurate in color and have brighter brightness levels. If the content is capable of HDR, you want to make sure that the HDR setting for that particular show/movie, etc. is turned on. Finally, be sure that you are using full UHD color for your HDMI ports that all your devices are connected to (gaming consoles, streaming devices).
In addition to video quality, sound quality matters a lot too. Consider different audio presets by selecting either "Theater" or "Music". However, if you want the full theatrical experience, you will want to invest in a soundbar or home theater system.
To use your sound bar or home theater system, the Vizio TV setup can handle both the HDMI ARC and the HDMI eARC output, allowing for easy connection to external audio systems, giving you the best possible sound quality to accompany your movie or series.
Additionally, be sure to check for software/firmware updates for your Vizio television. Live updates are being released routinely for Vizio televisions and improve streaming performance, correct common issues/bugs, and provide additional compatibility with more applications. Navigate to 'System Settings' and update your Vizio TV to the latest version available.
Lastly, as well as checking the Vizio TV settings, don't forget to check the settings for the applications you are using. Most streaming services offer video quality settings so you can set them to 'Auto' or 'High', whichever gives you the best quality available based on your internet speed.
While the process of optimizing your TV with Vizio will only take a few minutes, you will be glad you did once you watch your favorite shows with the clear, smooth video and big sound coming from your television as if you were at a movie theatre.
